Rehabilitation and Interior Design
Almería, 2022
Collaborating with interior designer Cristina Arnedo on the refurbishment of a second home in Almería was an enriching experience. I would especially highlight the kindness and good atmosphere that Begoña, the owner, generated during the whole process.
Starting from a house lacking in personality, we managed to infuse it with the character and style of its owner. The kitchen was a particular highlight, where we created a sense of openness towards the living room, with the flexibility to be closed off with a sliding glass enclosure when necessary.
The design of the access to housing also stood out. We used decorative paper that simulated a mural to visually separate it from the living room, turning it into a functional piece of furniture for the television. Overall, we optimised every space and visually simplified the layout by using panelling that concealed doors and cupboards.
To emphasise a warm and cosy atmosphere, we incorporated curtain rails and indirect lighting in the false ceiling designed to conceal the curtain guides and LED profiles.
