Located in a farmhouse, the clients wanted a modern design that would harmonise and coexist with the old. Harmony between old and new is achieved by combining traditional and modern elements.

Firstly, the decision to remove a cupboard space to create a second bathroom demonstrates a pragmatic and functional approach, adapting the structure of the house to contemporary needs.

As for the design of the bathrooms, the choice was made to mix ceramics and finishes that allude to materials of the past with newer technologies and materials. This choice creates an atmosphere that evokes the history and character of the old house, while introducing modern elements that enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the spaces.

The use of large-format ceramics and screenless showers represents the integration of modern technologies into the design, offering comfort and ease of maintenance. At the same time, the selection of ceramics and finishes that reference traditional materials brings a sense of authenticity and connection to the house’s past.

Indirect lighting plays a key role in creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in bathrooms. These soft, diffused lights illuminate the space in a subtle way, highlighting the architectural details and creating a sense of calm and serenity that invites relaxation.
